A new sculpture park will open at Pallington Lakes, Dorset, on 21 September,

showcasing the work of leading British sculptor Simon Gudgeon in advance of his major solo exhibition at Halcyon Gallery in May 2009. Sculpture by the Lakes, presented by Gudgeon and Halcyon Gallery, provides a beautiful and natural setting for this monumental new collection of sculptures.

Set in 26 acres of stunning Dorset countryside and bordered by the tranquil River Frome, 'Sculpture by the Lakes' will show over a dozen new large-scale works by Simon Gudgeon. Simon’s signature style is instantly recognisable: smooth, minimalist forms created with clean lines that express both movement and emotion. In these new works, he explores an even more pared down approach to sculpture, creating magnificent abstracted forms of birds and mammals in bronze and stainless steel.

Simon Gudgeon has exhibited internationally with shows in London, New York, Paris and the Netherlands. His work features in many important private collections both in the UK and aboard, such as those of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke of Bedford and the Duke of Northumberland.
